Connecting an IP dome camera to a PC
Configuring your IP dome camera in the area you wish to monitor or manage. Place the Camera High plus angled downward since this will typically offer the most inclusive view of any room.
Link the video output of the wireless IP dome camera receiver to the video input of the video Capture Card by the use of the composite video cable. If the camera is capable of transmitting audio, you may also proceed to attach the audio output of the recipient to the audio input of the card, and this should be done by using composite audio cables.
Put in the video capture card inside your computer’s card slot.
Have all the devices turned on. Then, the video captured/obtained from your IP dome camera should start streaming on your computer’s monitor.
Tips and warnings
You can link multiple IP dome cameras to your computer, which should give you the best possible view of your entire business premises or house, by employing a wireless receiver that is able of picking up a number of different signals and switching among them. Or conversely, you can employ several receivers, one for each IP dome camera, linked to a video switcher, which is later linked to the video capture card. Although a few surveillance IP dome cameras may not included wireless feature, in that case – the video cable would be required to be run from inside the camera and then to the video capture card, entailing extremely stretched lengths of wire that would take an unacceptable degree of inconvenience. And for that reason, wireless IP dome cameras remain the best option in surveillance purposes; and some even go for as low as $50 from various online vendors.
